Title | Trang and Andrew’s Wedding Story
1) Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty details.
We met while Andrew was in medical school and Trang was starting a research year. We were assigned to hospital orientation on the same day. During a break, Andrew moved his seat next to Trang’s. She thought he was a pest at first, but fortunately he was persistent and wore her down. He tells her on the day of their wedding that he knew even then she would be his wife. Friendship led to courtship, and a few years later, we were engaged.
2) Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Our proposal is still a sore point for Trang. She hates surprises…and boy, was she surprised. Andrew was in the midst of residency interviews and he convinced Trang that he was going to an interview in California. Two days into his supposed trip, he frantically called Trang, telling her that he had an envelope that needed to be delivered immediately to his school or else he risked not graduating. She rushed to his apartment, picked up the envelope, and headed out to deliver it for him. Unknown to her, Andrew was waiting for her on the bridge to Harvard. Andrew came up behind her, tapped her on the shoulder, and asked her to open the envelope. Inside was a ring. After a not-so-playful punch and a little crying (Trang from the shock and Andrew from the punch), she said yes!
3) Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
She loves how he can never stay mad at her.
He loves her how kind she is to everyone – even strangers!
4) If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
She loves it when she catches him singing or dancing when he thinks no one is watching.
He loves it when she laughs while trying to deliver a joke.
5) Besides getting married – what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Celebrating our love with our favorite people! And of course the photos!
First we started with guys, shooting all their details and of course the groom assembling himself…
Once Andrew was all tidied up we pulled him aside to get some portraits in this small cove showered with gorgeous light…
When we arrived at Trang’s mothers house we were blown away by how gorgeous this home was. We got right to work shooting the brides details, dress, and final touches of her makeup. We always meet great vendors at weddings and Minah was a pleasure to work with. She does stunning makeup work and you can follow her on Instagram here: @makeup_by_minah
Stunning greek orthodox ceremony….
Grand ceremony exit…
Slightly rainy portraits that, in my opinion, came out absolutely epic!
First dance and parent dances. This was a very hard reception to photograph as there was nowhere to bounce lighting from. As someone who is obsessed with light I setup a creative cross-lighting system that gave their reception a dramatic look.
During the reception we went outside to create some fun images with sparklers…
