Anthony’s Oceanview Wedding | Anita & AJ

  1. Our story kicks off in the fall of 2006 on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. We first met when a mutual friend invited AJ to a party at my townhouse. As the year would go on, we saw each other more and more. Eventually at some point AJ worked up the courage to ask me to hang out one on one but failed miserably! He even offered to watch Greys Anatomy, a show he had never heard of and had zero idea of what it entailed, but even that couldn’t get him anywhere.

It wasn’t until almost ten years later that we would connect again. On the patio of Stonebridge restaurant, on a sunny Friday afternoon, we stopped in to get a beer after a long week of work. After randomly running into each other, a few weeks later we went on our first date. The restaurant he took me to made me sick as a dog that night, but by some God worthy miracle I agreed to hang out again a few days later. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love. In less than a year, I knew he was perfect for me and that he was the one. He would eventually propose to me 10 months later in front of our families. The rest is history!

  2. Bride: As cliche’ as this sounds, there was no exact moment and time. I just knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Groom: It was the moment no matter what I was doing, she was on my mind. First thing I thought of when I woke up and last thing I thought of before I went to bed!

  3. Groom: It was May 30th 2016 and I was FREAKING OUT!!!!! Mainly because I was so excited to propose. She thought I was going to propose a month earlier at a Boston Red Sox game so she had no idea this was coming. Day of, I couldn’t stop sweating and it was only 60 degrees outside! After it was done, I felt immediate joy that I as engaged and my heart had finally started to slow down.

Bride: I knew it was coming soon but I just didn’t know the details of how it would happen or when it would happen. I thought it was going to be when we took an overnight trip to Boston to watch the Red Sox (my favorite place & team). I was WRONG – OH SO WRONG hahaha. A few weeks later we hosted a Memorial Day picnic with all of our family and friends. He got down on one knee and made me the happiest girl. I could not have asked for a more perfect day surrounded by the most important people to us 🙂

  4. Bride: How supportive he is and he always makes me laugh.
Groom: Her legs…and how smart and independent she is.

  5. Bride: He yells in a Canadian accent whenever he watches a hockey game (he is not Canadian).
Groom: When she takes a shower, she decides to lay down like she’s taking a bath, instead of just taking a bath.

  6. Bride: The first time we see each other during our ceremony. I can’t wait to see his expression.
Groom: Our first dance. I’ve watched several people share their first dance and it is something I’ve always looked forward to.

  7. Bride: Finding gold sequin bridesmaid dresses started it all. They were absolutely stunning and my friends loved them. AJ wanted to make sure the groomsman had bow ties and suspenders.
    Groom: Whatever she wanted 🙂

  8. We were so lucky that so many of our friends have had weddings before us. They informed us of everything we would be expecting throughout the planning process.
